Dr. MacManus is a USF Distinguished University Professor Emerita of political science who has authored or co-authored numerous publications on Florida politics, including The South and the Transformation of U.S. Politics and Young v. Old: Generational Combat in the 21st Century (both 2019). A native Floridian from a citrus-growing family, Dr. MacManus and her mother also authored two Florida history books. From 1998 to 2015, Dr. MacManus served as political analyst for NBC affiliate WFLA in Tampa. Since 2016, she has been the political analyst for Tampa’s ABC station WFTS. She is a featured columnist on Florida’s widely read political website, SayfieReview.com. Dr. MacManus serves on the UF Bob Graham Center For Public Service Council of Advisors and the Board of Directors of the Florida TaxWatch Center for Florida Citizenship. Unaffiliated with any political party, she chaired the Florida Elections Commission from 1999-2003 and received her Ph.D. from Florida State University.
