Lynn Nilssen will be the guest speaker a give a presentation on the Sierra Club’s Ready for 100 national campaign, aimed at leveraging the power of cities to catalyze a transition toward renewable energy. Sarasota was the second city in the state to commit to 100% clean energy in 2017 and since then 8 more cities in Florida have committed and nationwide there are 150 cities and 6 states that have committed to a 100% clean energy future for all.
As part of our volunteer efforts the Sarasota Ready for 100 team is working with the city to help educate residents about what is being done in our community and nationwide to achieve a 100% clean energy future and what we can do as citizens to help.

Lynn has contributed many hours of volunteer time within the community through the local Sierra Club and League of Women Voters with a focus on conservation.
Her most recent conservation work includes:
Co-Chair of the Manatee-Sarasota Sierra Group Political Committee, which interviews candidates running for public office, and endorses those it believes will be strong environmental leaders.
Co-Chair of the Sarasota Ready for 100 Campaign which is part of the Sierra Club national campaign aimed at leveraging the power of cities to catalyze a transition toward 100% renewable energy.
Chair and organizer of the 2017 FL Sun Sarasota Solar Co-op.
Organizer of the local campaign to pass Amendment 4 the good solar amendment and defeat amendment 1 the bad solar amendment.
Worked on a county stakeholder group to address red tide that helped create policy for a County Fertilizer Ban.
Lynn is also a Realtor® who specializes in sustainable real estate for both buyers and sellers.
