The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Venice is pleased to announce the showing of the movie, “Suppressed: The Fight to Vote,” followed by a presentation by Rank My Vote SRQ. Noted local activist Kindra Muntz will moderate the discussion. Free and open to the public.
“Suppressed: The Fight to Vote” highlights a number of stories that took place in Georgia following the 2018 Midterm Elections. The film was created as an opportunity for people to learn about the value of the ballot and how the integrity of our democracy is being challenged by people in power.
The movie will be followed by an informative presentation by Rank My Vote SRQ regarding the merits of ranked choice voting. Sarasota approved ranked choice voting in 2007 for City Commissioners elections.
