PANEL DISCUSSION: “GOALS for 2022 and BEYOND” with FEATURED SPEAKERS: JoAnne DeVries, Chair of the Sarasota Democratic Party and Teresa Jenkins, Chair of the Charlotte County Democratic Executive Committee.
JoAnne DeVries, Chair of the Sarasota County Democratic Party for the past five years, currently holds the positions of Treasurer of the Democratic County Chairs Assoc. and Chair of the DCCA Voter Registration committee. JoAnne is also a board member of the Florida Democratic Party (FDP) Campaign Committee and Chair of the FDP’s voter registration subcommittee. Finally, as a longtime disability rights activist on behalf of hearing-impaired persons, JoAnne is a board member of the Hearing Loss Association of Sarasota/Manatee.
Teresa Jenkins, Chair of the Charlotte County Democratic Executive Committee, was founder and President of the SW FL Independent Voter’s Assoc., board member of the FL League of Women Voters and President of the Charlotte County of the Charlotte County League of Women Voters. Teresa was the Executive Director of Pres. Bill Clinton’s Labor Management Partnership Council and helped craft the legislation that created the Dept. of Homeland Security under Pres. Bush. Currently, Teresa chairs a multi-county NPA Discussion/Texting Group. She is the author of “Make Democracy Work Again,” published in 2016.
