Cat Dillard and Jana Hoefling co-founded Rethinking Plastic in the spring of 2017 and have been connecting with individuals in Sarasota, Florida and the US, researching, learning, and helping to educate those looking for ways they can be more sustainable. While reducing the use of plastic, extra packaging and unnecessary waste, our aim is in the area of food. As depicted in our logo, we strive to help individuals and restaurants become BADFive Free!
Our BADFive logo represent five common single-use items made from plastic or polystyrene that we use regularly and for an average of 12 minutes. We can begin to make an immediate and huge impact on plastic pollution by just refusing these single-use items and choosing to reuse or reduce the use of all plastics in our daily routine.
We are a network & social connection between local political and environmental activists, working together to elect environmentally literate candidates.
Monthly membership meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of each month.
