The special guest speaker at the meeting on April 14 will be DR. RICHARD TOLIN.
Dr. Tolin is a retired gastroenterologist who has recently relocated to Manatee County. In 2017 he was trained by Vice President Al Gore to be a member of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps. He has given about 35 presentations to physicians and lay groups about the intersections between health care and environmental degradation, climate change and social justice.
SUMMARY OF PRESENTATION:
Define air pollution and its current standards and the wide range of health problems that it causes. Dr. Tolin will discuss 2 sources of air pollution – one indoor and one outdoor – that most people don’t think of. Discuss how we can mitigate our own risks and influence public policy.
