At our May online meeting, our guest speaker will be Jaclyn Lopez, Florida Director and Senior Attorney for the Center for Biological Diversity, an organization with a mission of “saving life on Earth” and a goal of wanting “those who come after us to inherit a world where the wild is still alive.”
Ms. Lopez coordinates campaigns in the Southeast and Caribbean, focusing on protecting imperiled species and ecosystems. She has presented and written on numerous Endangered Species Act issues and taught courses on environmental law. She will present on the extinction crisis, focusing on Florida’s biodiversity loss, and some common sense measures to stop it.
