MASS ASSEMBLY IN TALLAHASSEE: Florida Poor People’s Campaign-A National Call for Moral Revival

On Saturday April 29th, we’ll gather at the Florida state capitol for a Poor People’s Campaign Mass Assembly, the culmination of the 4-day Moral March from Havana, FL to Tallahassee.                                                                                                                                                                                         CLICK HERE  –  Sign up today to get on a bus from your area to join this historic mobilization.

Buses will depart from cities across the state to arrive in time for the Mass Assembly, which is at the capitol at noon. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required to travel on the bus, and rapid tests will be administered at each stop before departure. Buses will stop as needed for food and rest, and will depart the capitol in the afternoon after the Mass Assembly concludes, arriving back home late Saturday night or in the early hours of Sunday morning, depending on distance.

This state-wide mobilization will challenge the lies, deceptions, and deflections emanating from the governor’s office and the statehouse by lifting up the voices of the people most impacted by the immoral policies pursued by DeSantis and his enablers, which are hurting people of every race, gender, sexuality, religion, and from every part of the state. We can show DeSantis and his allies, as well as Florida and the nation that this kind of extremist agenda is waking up a sleeping giant that can bring about a fundamental shift in the moral direction of our politics

WHAT’S AT STAKE?  The impact on 9.8 million  poor and low-income people in Florida (47% of Floridians); voting rights restrictions, systemic racism, low wages, housing, health care, gun violence and militarism, ecological devastation, attacks reproductive rights, unjust immigration policies, anti-LGBTQ+ policies, attacks on public education, and tax cuts and giveaways to the wealthy..
