Daniel grew up on a stretch of rural, family-owned farmland in Ohio. One of five kids, he attended the local public K-12 school, and after, continued his education at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, earning a Bachelor of Arts.

After college, he started working in Real Estate, and has spent over a decade working in related industries, from property management and development to real estate tech. While working in New York City, he met his husband, Dr. Ryan Suplee, a Sarasota native, and together they moved to Sarasota in 2018 .

Shortly after arriving in Sarasota, Daniel began getting involved with the local Democratic Party. He has been a Precinct Captain for four years, an Area Leader, and is a former Political Director for the Florida Young Democrats. He most recently served as the First Vice-Chair of the Sarasota County Democratic Party. In 2022, Daniel was the Democratic candidate for Sarasota County Commission, D4. He currently works as a UX/UI Designer, helping a real estate tech company solve old problems with new software solutions.
