200 Show Up for League of Women Voters Rally in Sarasota

Some 200 people showed up for the League of Women Voters of Sarasota County (LWVSRQ) who hosted a nonpartisan "Empower Voters and Defend Democracy," Saturday morning July 5, 2025, along Sarasota's South Bayfront Drive. The rally was a part of Unite and Rise 8.5, "the League's nationwide campaign to mobilize some 8.5 million voters to protect democratic institutions and fight back against authoritarianism through advocacy, mobilization, civic education, and engagement."
