At the Florida Democratic Party’s 2025 Leadership Blue fundraiser, U.S. Sen. Cory Booker and Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear rallied Democrats not to lose hope despite Republican dominance in the state and the broader national political climate under Donald Trump. Beshear offered a practical message of winning back the political middle with common-sense solutions and relatable language, while Booker delivered an emotional and energetic speech urging Democrats to shift focus away from Trump and stay grounded in their values. Both men appeared to be quietly positioning themselves for potential 2028 presidential bids. Party Chair Nikki Fried announced a new $1 million grassroots initiative called Pendulum to rebuild Democratic infrastructure across Florida. The event, which drew about 800 attendees, also served as a show of unity and strength amid increasing political violence and heavy security following a recent political assassination in Minnesota.
