How many people does it take to make real change? Research shows that nonviolent protests are twice as likely to succeed as armed conflicts. And those that engage over 3.5% of a population have never failed to create change.
Please—be there on Saturday, October 18th. If you can’t stand, bring a chair. Showing up is standing up. Be Counted.
And please share with everyone you know who is appalled by the destruction of democracy.

'RISE UP & RESIST' - JOIN OUR 'NO KINGS' PROTEST RALLY ON THIS NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION, hosted by the Democratic Women's Club of Sarasota County, in partnership with League of Women Voters, US, El Pueblo Unido-Tampa Bay and 50501 of Florida. This demonstration will feature speakers in Payne Park as well as sign-waving at 301 & Ringling and 301 & Main.
9 am – GATHER at the Payne Park auditorium to hear powerful speakers
10 am to noon – SIGN WAVING along the sidewalks on 301 – bring signs, banners, flags, musical instruments, your friends, your voice!
BRING DONATIONS for the For Our Neighbors Food Drive, benefiting immigrant families in need in our community.
NOTE: public restrooms, a cafe, and parking will be available at Payne Park and at the nearby parking garage at 2150 Ringling Blvd /School Ave.
