Phone Bank at Dem Headquarters

“It’s fun to call Democrats, and they appreciate the reminder to renew their ‘Vote by Mail!”      

If it’s Wednesday, it’s phone banking day at the Sarasota Florida Democratic Headquarters on Tamiami Trail.  Every Wednesday, the office conducts phone banking training sessions from 2 to 4 pm for volunteers wishing to learn the phone calling procedures to get voters to register to vote by mail.  Some regulars come to phone from our office instead of calling from home.

Rhonda Lee, our trainer on Wednesdays, is excited to work with new volunteers to get them set up to make calls.  Callers can call from our headquarter computers or their personal laptops on Wednesday afternoons or from their home computers any day from 10am to 7pm after getting training.

Phone banking is easy because the system takes callers to the next phone number as they call.  A handy script is provided to give callers consistent things to say and answers to common questions that may arise.  Many folks don’t know that they had to reregister after January 1, 2025, to get a vote by mail ballot and are delighted that we called to tell them.
